“Simple pack of utilities for network admin”

Free Windows Desktop Central Tools includes four tools for a variety of management The first is a "Wake on LAN Tool" which allows you to boot computers on a LAN network remotely.

It allows the administrators to boot multiple computers simultaneously with just the IP Address, MAC Address and the Subnet Mask of the computers. The "GPO Update Tool" allows you to perform a GPO Update over several computers. By default, the GPO updates happen periodically, i,e. every 90 minutes but this gives administrators more control over the process. The "Shutdown / Restart Tool" allows you to shutdown or restart several computers on the same network. Finally, the "Software Inventory Tool" retrieves details of the software installed on several networked computers including Software Name, Version, Manufacturer and Usage statistics.

For the average home user, this program won't be of much use but for those managing a network, it's a simple but effective management tool.

Desktop Central provides a set of free Windows tools that Windows Administrators might require on an day-to-day basis. It has a set of four tools, viz: Wake on LAN, GPO Update, Shutdown/Restart Tool, and Software Inventory Tool.

This is very handy as it can be performed on multiple computers simultaneously. These tools are made available from the Desktop Central family and is provided as a separate download, which is absolutely free to use.
